6 killed, 20 injured in two bomb attacks in Turkey


Six persons, including two police officers, were killed and 20 others were injured in two bomb attacks in Turkey's Sirnak province on Monday, local media reported.
In the first attack, the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants placed explosives under manhole cover and detonated it with remote control while a police vehicle was passing, killing four and injuring 19 people, Xinhua news agency reported.
Two police officers were killed and one other was injured in the second attack by the PKK members in Van province. The bomb was detonated with remote control targeting an armoured police car.Read More

Landslide kills 16 in Arunachal Pradesh



At least 16 people were killed and many buried under debris in a landslide that struck Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh early Friday morning, officials said.

Rescue operations are underway and 16 bodies have been recovered so far.
"The landslide occurred somewhere around 2.30 am today (Friday). Local authorities are involved in the rescue operations," said a senior official.

The incident occurred at 3 am when 17 labourers engaged in construction works were inside the camp at a place four km away from Tawang town, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Lod Gambo said.

Gambo said rescue operation was on and two JCBs have been pressed into service to clear the debris.
The PWD road in between New Lebrang and government higher secondary school has also been blocked due to landslide, while damages to residential buildings have been reported from the area.

Heavy rainfall in the past few days in the district resulted in a flood-like situation which severely damaged the Kitpi Ph-I and Ph-II hydel projects.Read More.

Women beating her sick and helpless 70-year-old mother-in-laws.



A woman was caught mercilessly beating up her 70-year-old mother-in-law and trying to strangle her with a cloth at her home in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. A CCTV installed by her estranged husband recorded the brutality.

The woman Sangeeta Jain has been arrested on charges of attempt to murder after her husband showed the shocking video to the police.

The video captured on January 5 shows Sangeeta first hitting the elderly woman Raj Rani Jain and then trying to strangle her with a cloth. Read More.
